Our Florentine instruments are built in a style invented by Bartolomeo
Cristofori and which continued to be built throughout the 18th century.
They have a single case, like the Giusti, but with no illusion of double
case construction. The five octave version has enough notes to accommodate
all the sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti.
